Wellbeing Data You Can Trust

Data enabling early intervention into the mental health and wellbeing issues facing our young people

Across the world, mental health issues in our young people continue to escalate. The issues that arise in school can have detrimental consequences throughout their adult lives and ultimately lead to tragic outcomes.

Social and emotional learning for children has never been so important.

HiJo’s primary objective is to lower the rate of mental health issues in our young people by producing data focused on informing early intervention and support for those most at risk of developing a mental health condition

We do this by providing educators and carers information to better assist the young people in their care by curating reports and insights into mood and behavioral patterns over time using data collected directly from the classroom.

Our intuitive wellbeing companions are connected devices that are designed to encourage students to check-in regularly about how they are feeling and coping throughout the day.

Say Hi to HIJO!

The HiJo Device is an intuitive wellbeing companion designed to encourage students to share how they are feeling and coping in the classroom, throughout the day.

This creates an immediate feedback loop between the student and their teacher or carer. HiJo AI analytics establishes the mood and behavioural patterns of each individual student over time, providing essential insight into how they learn and cope during their day.

HiJo then aggregates this data to provide insights for the development of supportive education environments, curriculums and policy reform, with a view to more broadly assisting in the fight against mental health issues in young people.

Emotional intelligence

HiJo invites the student to input their mood at their discretion at any time of the day. HiJo also collects data on a range of classroom environment factors that may impact mood such as room temperature, light, noise, time of day, proximity to others and movement.

The teacher portal receives a live feed of this data and a monthly report on mood and behavioural patterns over time from both an individual and classroom level.

It’s this combination of direct feedback from students, the collection of environmental data and immediate connectivity to teachers that makes HiJo so unique.

Connecting

HiJo allows students to create a personal, safe, one-to-one connection with a wellness companion device. This builds trust and comfort in the feedback process, encouraging students to share their true feelings, in the moment.

Empowering

HiJo can facilitate a stronger connection between students and their teachers in the classroom, providing a consistent stream of emotional feedback and ecological momentary assessment (EMA) data. This allows carers and educators to monitor the wellbeing and engagement levels of their students, in real time, throughout the day.

HiJo empowers students to input mood at their discretion as much or as little as they want to. Absolute empowerment!

Early intervention

HiJo’s real time emotional feedback loop with students empowers teachers and carers to act on any patterns identified or escalating issues. This informs early intervention into any developing mental health or wellbeing issues with each individual student.

Informing teachers and Principals

HiJo’s broad collection of direct emotional intel from each student provides indication into what may be affecting their mood. This includes; time of day, movement, temperature, light, noise and the proximity others. These insights can be used to help inform best practice teaching to better support the development of all children, particularly the vulnerable.

Improving social and emotional learning

HiJo’s goal is to ultimately improve the quality of data that informs early intervention. By fostering scenarios where we can capture raw and honest momentary feedback data from our children and combine it with sensory EMA data, we believe this will initiate more informed decision making and policy from our leaders.
